Butz Fellowship
The Butz Fellowship is a merit-based award for new incoming graduate students beginning their studies at the Patel College of Global Sustainability (PCGS). It recognizes exceptional students who demonstrate commitment, creativity, and the potential to contribute meaningfully to advancing sustainability solutions locally or globally. This fellowship is not based on financial need and is not available to continuing students.

Essay
In 1–2 pages, describe:
- What inspires your interest in sustainability, and how do you hope to contribute to meaningful change in the field as you grow in your studies and career?
- Describe a moment, experience, or challenge that shaped your commitment to sustainability. What did you learn, and how has it influenced your goals moving forward?
- How will the Butz Fellowship support your academic development and strengthen your ability to engage deeply with sustainability challenges?

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a newly admitted student beginning their first semester at PCGS (not a continuing student).
- The applicant must be enrolled full-time, carrying a minimum of 9 graduate credit hours.
- The applicant **must be registered for courses in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
- The applicant must agree to participate in a brief interview if selected as a finalist.
