Meet the Team

Jennifer DiPrete
Senior Director
Jennifer earned her master's degree in Social Work from USF and a master's degree
in Health Promotion and Wellness Management and her bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation
Services, both from Springfield College in Springfield, MA. She is a Master Certified
Health Education Specialist. Her work focuses on holistic health and wellness, behavior
modification, sleep, and stress management. As the Senior Director of the Center for
Student Well-Being, she oversees a department that provides programs, activities,
and information designed to keep USF students well-balanced and successful in college.

Courtney Deremiah
Associate Director
Courtney earned her master's degree in Health Science, specializing in Community Health
Education and Health Administration, and her bachelor's degree in Health Science,
both from Towson University in Towson, MD. Courtney is a Master Certified Health Education
Specialist and supports the mission and vision of the Center for Student Well-Being
by providing leadership and oversight of the Prevention and Outreach branch of the
department. Her content area of focus and passion is sexual health. She is dedicated
to providing comprehensive and inclusive education to all members of the campus community.

Kathleen Koviak
Assistant Director, Substance Use Prevention
Kathleen earned her master's degree in Health Behavior & Health Education and her
bachelor's degree in Biology, both from the University of Michigan. Kathleen is a
Certified Health Education Specialist. She collaborates with campus partners and the
HEAT Peer Health Education group to provide programs that encourage healthy behaviors
as well as increase harm reduction strategies and awareness of resources related to
substance use and abuse. She works closely with campus stakeholders and community
organizations to inform policy change and environmental strategies related to alcohol,
tobacco, and other drugs.

Danielle Stem
Health Promotion Specialist- Substance Use Prevention
Danielle earned her master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Florida, concentrating in Social and Behavioral Sciences. She also received her bachelor's degree in health science from the University of Florida, minoring in Anthropology. She assesses current data on student health behavior relating to alcohol and other drugs, creates programs and initiatives to improve health behaviors, and evaluates the impact of these programs on the lives of students. She is dedicated to positively contributing to the Bulls community and walking with USF students in their journey to lifelong wellbeing.

Micah Garcia
Health Promotion Specialist
Micah earned her MPH in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences with a Concentration in the Social Determinants of Health from Emory University, she has also received her bachelor's degree in Public Health with a concentration in Environmental/Occupational Health from the ÐÜèAVÃâ·Ñ. Micah directly oversees the Health Education Action Team (HEAT) and is passionate about fostering an environment that empowers students to create positive health behaviors as they grow throughout their experience at USF and beyond.

Gabriela Mirasola
Health and Wellness Marketing Officer
Gabriela earned her master’s degree in Communications from the University at Albany and her bachelor’s in Communications & Rhetoric and Theatre Arts from Nazareth College of Rochester. Her experience includes social media management, graphic design, copywriting, crisis management, and more. In addition to SWELL, Gabriela assists the Counseling Center and the Center for Victim Advocacy and Violence Prevention with their marketing needs.

Heather Williams
Administrative Specialist
Heather earned her bachelor's degree in sports management from Towson University. Before working for USF, Heather worked for two separate Big 4 consulting/accounting Firms in Human Resources. She loves working for USF and the interactions she gets to have with students everyday.
