Tuition Waiver and Assistance Opportunities
Many students in the Master's in Criminal Justice (MACJ) program are working professionals, including employees of the State of Florida and other public agencies. Several tuition-support options may help eligible students reduce the cost of their degree.
One option commonly used by MACJ students is the State of Florida Employee Tuition Waiver, which allows eligible full-time state employees to enroll in up to six credit hours per semester on a space-available basis. Because many MACJ students take two courses per semester (six credits), this waiver can often cover the full cost of a typical course load.
Students must be admitted to USF and meet all standard admissions, advising and registration requirements. Eligibility must also be verified each semester through the State of Florida Employee Information Center.
Please note that this waiver does not apply to employees of the State University System, including USF employees. Separate tuition benefits are available through the USF Employee Tuition Program (ETP).
In addition to the State Employee Tuition Waiver, some government agencies, nonprofit organizations and employers offer tuition reimbursement or educational assistance programs. Students are encouraged to check with their employer or sponsoring organization about available benefits.
