Teachers at MOSI: Exploring AI and the Universe

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching partnered with the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) and the USF College of Education to host a family-friendly professional learning event: Teachers at MOSI: Exploring AI and the Universe. Designed especially for K-12 educators and their children, the evening offered an engaging blend of cutting-edge technology and awe-inspiring space science.
Participants explored MOSI's interactive exhibit, Artificial Intelligence: Your Mind & The Machine, learning about real-world applications of AI and making connections to classroom instruction. The evening also included a planetarium experience, highlighting how space science can spark curiosity, creativity, and student engagement.
Feedback from attendees reflected strong enthusiasm for the event, with teachers sharing that they "really enjoyed the event and bringing my family" and appreciated discovering "new things to bring back to my classes." Participants also praised the welcoming environment and planning, noting: "It was well planned and everyone was so friendly," and "Everything was so awesome...we appreciate the great evening!"
The Anchin Center is excited to continue this series in Spring 2026 with additional Teacher Night at MOSI events, building opportunities for educators and families to learn together while exploring innovative teaching connections through hands-on museum experiences.
