USF will host the Regional Scripps Spelling Bee for the first time, welcoming about 60 Tampa Bay area students competing for a chance to advance to the national championship in Washington, D.C. Behind the scenes, announcer and USF literacy professor Lindsay Persohn is focused on supporting the spellers and keeping the spotlight where it belongs — on the kids and their love of language.
