Wendy Liu is the founding director of the Finance Talent Pathway program and a professor of instruction in finance in the Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance. She leads the design and delivery of the Finance Talent Pathway, teaches undergraduate Principles of Investments and Selected Topics in Finance in the DBA program. She also advises student organizations, including the Investment Club and Scholars of Finance, while supporting experiential learning and career development initiatives across finance programs.
Liu joined USF in 2025 from Vanderbilt University, where she served as faculty director of the Master of Science in Finance program at the Owen Graduate School of Management. There, she oversaw curriculum and academic advising, supported program operations, and taught courses in financial economics, investments, bond markets, corporate financial policy, and introductory finance. Her research and teaching interests focus on corporate finance, investments, corporate governance, and the integration of experiential learning into the finance curriculum. She has also held faculty appointments at the University of Kentucky, Texas A&M University, and American University, and has received multiple university- and college-level teaching awards for excellence in instruction, mentorship, and educational innovation.
Liu earned a PhD in finance from Indiana University (Bloomington) and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
