Giti Javidi is a professor of cybersecurity and AI at the School of Information Systems, Muma College of Business, and serves as the academic director of the Information Assurance and Cybersecurity Management undergraduate program. She joined USF in 2016 after serving as a professor of computer science at Virginia State University. Her research integrates AI and cybersecurity across two complementary domains: secure design and optimization of cyber-physical systems and IoT infrastructures using data-driven and AI-enabled approaches, and cybersecurity governance, analytics, and decision-making, with a focus on AI, risk management, and ethical AI deployment.
She directs the Applied Research Collaborative (ARC) Lab, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty, students, and industry partners for applied research and workforce training. Her work has been published in leading journals and supported by external funding from agencies including NSF, NASA, Google, and Microsoft.
A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in technology, she has led numerous national and international initiatives and received multiple honors, including Virginia Fearless Leader (2015), Sarasota Women of Influence (2017, 2020), and USF Women in Leadership and Philanthropy (2018). She earned her PhD and master's degree from the ÐÜèAVÃâ·Ñ and her bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.
