Vimal Bava is an assistant professor of instruction in accounting at the University of South Florida. He earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from Florida International University in 2026, where his dissertation examined the impact of AI-driven technologies on digital burnout among accountants and the moderating role of trait emotional intelligence. He also holds a master's degree in accounting from Ball State University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Central Arkansas, and he is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Arkansas and Florida.

Before joining USF, Bava taught accounting and business courses at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, and the University of the People. His teaching portfolio includes financial, managerial, and cost accounting, business analytics, finance, and introductory business courses. Known for his student-centered approach and strong classroom engagement, he has consistently received excellent teaching evaluations and has completed extensive pedagogical training, including a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University.

Bava’s research interests focus on accounting technology, artificial intelligence, technology adoption, and innovations in accounting education. His current work explores AI risk management in CPA firms and the use of digital game-based learning in accounting education. Prior to entering academia, he built a successful career in public accounting and business leadership, serving as president of his own CPA firm and holding accounting and financial management roles in both public accounting and industry. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arkansas Society of CPAs, and the Florida Institute of CPAs.
