BIO

Christina Newman is a master’s student in sociology at the ÐÜèAVÃâ·Ñ, where she also earned her B.A. in Sociology. Her research interests include the sociology of religion, political sociology, and the sociology of law, with a focus on how these institutions sustain or challenge inequality in the United States. She is particularly interested in how power is acquired, exercised, and contested; how social movements mobilize support; and how authority and group dynamics shape moral beliefs and behavior. These interests are informed by her commitment to human and animal rights, environmental protection, and equitable access to resources, particularly for marginalized communities.
