Research Interests
I am a community‑engaged researcher who studies how place, history, and policy shape
people’s health and everyday experiences. My work focuses on environmental justice,
maternal and child health, and the ways communities respond when systems fail to
meet their needs. I am especially interested in how residents make sense of
environmental risks, how community voices and collective memory are preserved or
lost, and how redevelopment affects families in historically marginalized areas. My
approach is deeply interdisciplinary, drawing on anthropology, public health, and
collaborative research methods to understand people in context and support solutions
that come from the community itself. I see myself as an applied anthropologist who
works alongside diverse partners to document lived experiences, strengthen advocacy,
and help translate community knowledge into meaningful change.
