Biography

Shira Wein is an assistant professor at the ÐÜèAVÃâ·Ñ, where she leads the COMPASS research lab. Her research focuses on multilingual language modeling, which develops language technologies for the world’s languages; computational semantics, which analyzes and represents the meaning of text; and model assessment, which evaluates and explains model performance.

She is also a faculty associate at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. Previously, she was an assistant professor of computer science at Amherst College and conducted research at Google, the University of Southern California and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
